Reference field
A reference field links a content item to an item in another collection, such as a blog post to its author, so shared details are kept in one place.

What it is
Without references, an author's name and photo would be copied into every post and go stale. With one, the post points at the author's entry, and changing the author changes every post that refers to it.
A multi-reference links to several items, such as a post's related posts or a product's categories.
In Xodia
Xodia CMS has Reference and Multi-reference field types, each pointing at another collection, with a limit on how many one collection can have. The item form picks the linked items from a list.
On the canvas, a reference field adds a nested list inside an item, such as the author's name and photo on every post card.
