What you can do
Documents as forms, drafts to live
Each document type shows as a collection, with every document's state: live, changed or a draft. Edits go to Sanity, using Sanity's own drafts.
- Edit fields in forms read from your documents: text, numbers, dates, images and references
- Save to a draft, then Publish, Unpublish or Discard changes, one document at a time
- Create and delete documents without opening Sanity Studio
- Your Sanity images in the Assets panel, served from Sanity's image CDN
- Your AI follows Xodia's Sanity skills for schemas, queries and safe content changes, plus Next.js and Astro with Sanity
Stack packs on the Agents page, scrolled to the content system, framework and CMS, and host packs, for a Next.js site on Sanity: Sanity, Next.js with Sanity and Vercel are marked On this site.
How to connect
Connect it with one token
Xodia uses the same project id your site already reads, and an Editor token you create in Sanity.
- Import your site. Xodia detects Sanity from its packages, such as sanity, next-sanity or @sanity/client.
- In sanity.io/manage, open your project's API settings and create a token with Editor access.
- In Xodia, open Settings, Environment variables, and add the project id, the dataset if it isn't production, and the token as SANITY_API_WRITE_TOKEN.
- Open the Content tab: your document types are listed as collections.
Settings, Environment: the Sanity project id, dataset and Editor token added as preview variables, each shown only as hidden, with the note that values are encrypted and never shown to your agent.

Limits
Good to know
- Portable Text fields show in the form as read only; change them in Sanity Studio or ask your AI
- Fields come from your existing documents, so a brand new document type needs one document first
- Schema changes stay in your Sanity Studio code, where your AI can make them
- The token is stored encrypted, used by Xodia's server and never shown to your AI
Questions
Sanity questions
Does this replace Sanity Studio?
No. Your Studio keeps working as it does. Xodia gives writers a second place to edit, next to the site they're changing.
Do my edits go live right away?
No. Edits are saved to Sanity as drafts. They reach your site when you publish the document, as they would from Sanity Studio.
Which environment variable names work?
The ones your site may already use: SANITY_PROJECT_ID, or the same name with a SANITY_STUDIO_, NEXT_PUBLIC_ or PUBLIC_ prefix, and SANITY_API_WRITE_TOKEN or SANITY_API_TOKEN for the token.
Does it work with any framework?
Yes. The Content tab talks to Sanity directly, so it works whatever framework renders the site. See the CMS page for content kept in files.
