Lighter images in one click, right in your browser
The Assets panel lists every image on your site, flags the heavy ones and converts them to WebP or AVIF, or compresses them in their own format. The work runs in your browser, the new file joins your draft, and the pages that used the old one are pointed at it.

The Assets panel on a bakery site: content images for the menu, the site's own images and an icon, each with its size, the 1.4 MB hero.jpg picked and flagged as large, with Compress, WebP and AVIF.
Assets panel
Every image on your site, in one place
Images are grouped the way your site uses them: content images by collection, the site's own images, and icons. Sort them by size to see what to fix first.
- Images over 200 KB are marked in amber, so the heavy ones stand out
- Search, filter by group, and upload PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, AVIF or SVG files
- Pick an image, select one on the page, and swap it in one click
- On Sanity sites, the Sanity media library shows here too
The Assets panel sorted by size, largest first: the 1.4 MB hero.jpg, morning-buns.jpg and og-image.png flagged as large in amber, then the smaller images.
Image converter
Convert or compress, and every page keeps up
Pick an image and choose Compress, WebP or AVIF. Xodia converts it on your computer, saves it next to the original and updates the files that use it, then says how much it saved.
- Compress keeps the name and format, so nothing that uses the image has to change
- WebP and AVIF write a new file; the original stays only if its name still appears somewhere
- SVG and GIF files compress in place, and an animated GIF keeps its animation
- Animated PNG and WebP files are left as they are, so no frame is lost
The Assets panel after converting hero.jpg to WebP: hero.webp is picked at 182 KB, with Saved 1.2 MB (87%) and Updated 2 files, and Compress and AVIF still offered.
With your AI
Speed tests and your AI point to the heavy ones
When a PageSpeed test says image delivery is slowing the page, this is where you fix it. Your AI's Image optimiser skill sends you here for heavy images, and sets each image's size, alt text and loading.
- The SEO tab shows how much a failed image check could save
- Your AI asks you to convert heavy images here instead of re-encoding them itself
- See the SEO and speed tools
The SEO tab's checks to fix after a mobile test: an accessibility check opened with Fix with AI and Open Audits, and two performance checks, one with its estimated saving.
Questions
Assets questions
Are my images sent to another service to convert?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, on your computer. Xodia saves the result into your project's draft, like any other edit.
Which formats can I convert?
PNG and JPEG convert to WebP or AVIF, or compress in their own format. WebP converts to AVIF or compresses. BMP converts to WebP or AVIF. SVG and GIF files compress in place.
Will my pages break when an image gets a new name?
No. When WebP or AVIF writes a new file, Xodia updates the files that point at the old one. Compress keeps the name, so nothing changes at all.
What about images imported in code, as on Next.js?
Compress works on them and keeps their name and format, so the code needs no change. To switch one to a new format, ask your AI to change the import.
Is the image converter on every plan?
Yes. WebP and AVIF, SVG and GIF compression in the Assets panel, in your browser. Compare plans.
