Plan a website you already have

You don't need to start from a blank brief to plan a site. Xodia reads your existing site and makes the plan from its code: every page, its sections, the menu and the style. Then the plan and the site stay in sync while you add what comes next.

Updated

Free plan. No card needed.

Opening Xodia's Plan tab on a site without a plan: Plan your site, with Create the plan from your site, which lists the pages, sections, menu and brand from the code for free with no AI, and Start from a brief.

Step by step

How to plan an existing website

Six steps from a site you already have to a plan that stays true to it.

  1. 1

    Bring your site in

Import its repository from GitHub, import it by its address, or open a project you already have. Projects you import or start from a starter get a plan made from their site straight away.

  2. 2

Create the plan from your site

Open the Plan tab. If the project has no plan yet, choose Create the plan from your site. Xodia lists your pages, the sections on each, the menu and footer, and your colours and fonts, from the code. It is free and needs no AI.

  3. 3

    Read the sitemap

Every page you have shows as Built, under its folder, with its sections in order. Give pages and sections a purpose and notes, so you and your AI know what each one is for.

  4. 4

    Plan what comes next

Add the pages, sections and CMS collections you want next. They stay Planned until they are on the site, and the Pages panel shows planned pages too.

  5. 5

    Build the new parts

With your AI connected, wireframe or build each planned page from its menu, or build them by hand on the canvas. Either way the status changes when the page is on the site.

  6. 6

    Keep editing anywhere

Change pages and sections on the canvas, in the Code tab or through your AI. The plan follows, and the sync bar says what changed. Anything removed from the site that still has notes waits for you to keep or remove it.

Sync

The site is the truth, the plan keeps your intent

Pages, sections, the menu and the theme come from your site. Purposes, notes and pages you haven't built yet stay in the plan. Nothing you wrote is dropped without your say.

  • Statuses come from the code: Planned, Wireframed or Built
  • Each sync is an unsaved change you can discard
  • How sync works: Plan your site

Xodia's Plan tab with changes from the site waiting: the sync bar counts them, with Review and Update plan, above the sitemap with its folder and collections.

Build

Build only what is new

Pages already on your site stay Built, because status comes from the code, so building sends your AI only the pages that are new.

  • Build changed sends only the pages whose plan changed since they were built
  • Connect your AI: Connect an MCP server

Xodia's Build all pages dialog: skip pages already built, the five pages to build with their paths, Home skipped as built, the options line (soft motion, draft copy, matching SVGs, Lucide icons) with Change, and the note that your own AI does the work.

Questions

Questions about planning an existing site

Does creating the plan change my site?

It can add a small id to each top-level section in your code, so the plan can follow sections as they move. These show as unsaved changes you review, like any other edit.

Which plans include it?

The plan in sync with your site and Create the plan from your site work on Free, Starter, Pro and Agency. Drafting, wireframing and building with your AI need Free, Starter, Pro and Agency. See pricing.

What happens when I delete a page on the site?

If it had a purpose or notes in the plan, it is marked Removed from site and waits in the sync bar: keep it planned, or remove it from the plan.

Does the plan know about my blog?

Yes. Your CMS collections show in the plan with their collection pages, and the site owns their fields. See Build a blog with Xodia CMS.
