Edit the site folder on your computer, visually
Local folder mode opens a site you've cloned on your computer in Xodia. The editor runs in your browser; the preview and every file change run on your machine, in your folder, with your own git. It uses no preview hours, on every plan.

Settings, Code and Git: the project's GitHub repository and branch, and Open on this computer, using a folder on the computer with its own git.
xodia dev
One command opens your folder in Xodia
In the project's settings, under Code and Git, choose Get the command and run it in your site's folder. The project switches to your folder as soon as it connects.
- The code in the command works once, for 15 minutes; after the first time, xodia dev reconnects on its own
- Edit in VS Code and Xodia side by side: changes land in your files, and you commit with your own git
- The pairing stays on your computer and out of your repo
- Back to the cloud preview whenever you like, from the same card
Settings, Code and Git: beside the GitHub repository, Open on this computer shows the xodia dev command to run in the site's folder, with a one-time code that works for 15 minutes.
xodia agent
Your own Claude Code, run from Xodia's ask box
xodia agent connects Claude Code on your computer to Xodia. Choose Your AI in the ask box and send a request: it runs with your own Claude login, and every step and approval shows in Xodia.
- Needs Claude Code installed and signed in on the same computer
- Leave the window open while you work; after the first time it reconnects on its own
- Works with cloud previews and with a local folder alike
- Step by step setup is on Connect your AI
The ask box with Your AI chosen: a card explains that the Xodia helper runs requests with your own Claude Code on your computer, with Get the command and the option to send to your AI app instead.
The commands
Two commands, nothing to install
Xodia gives you each command with your own one-time code in place of the one below. npx fetches the xodia tool from Xodia's app the first time; it needs Node.js 22 or newer.
Open this folder in Xodia
Run it in your site's folder, inside its git repository.
npx -y --package=https://app.xodia.ai/cli/xodia-0.2.1.tgz xodia dev --connect <code> --server https://app.xodia.ai
Run Your AI from the ask box
Run it anywhere on the computer where Claude Code is signed in.
npx -y --package=https://app.xodia.ai/cli/xodia-0.2.1.tgz xodia agent --connect <code> --server https://app.xodia.ai
Questions
Local and CLI questions
Does local folder mode use preview hours?
No. The preview runs on your computer, so it uses none of your plan's preview hours and starts in seconds.
Which plans include it?
Free, Starter, Pro and Agency. Compare plans.
What do I need on my computer?
Node.js 22 or newer and the site cloned as a git repository. For xodia agent, Claude Code installed and signed in. There is nothing else to install: npx runs the xodia tool.
Where do my changes go?
Into the files in your folder. Saves happen there with your own git, so you commit and push the way you always do.
Can I go back to the cloud preview?
Yes. Choose Back to the cloud preview in Settings, under Code and Git. The project previews on Xodia again.
