A URL folder is a part of a web address that groups pages under it, such as services in /services/web-design, so the address shows where a page sits in the site.

## What it is

Folders make addresses readable and predictable: visitors can guess where they are, and search engines see which pages belong together. A folder can have its own page at its address, often one that lists the pages inside.

Moving a page to another folder changes its address, so links to it need updating and the old address should redirect to the new one.

## In Xodia

The Pages panel shows pages as a tree of folders, up to five levels deep. New folder adds one, a page's settings choose its parent folder and slug with a preview of the address, and moving a page or folder updates links and writes redirects.

A CMS collection has a URL folder too, where its items live, such as blog for /blog/post-name, and it can sit inside other folders, such as /resources/blog.
